Craig Wright, the controversial figure in the cryptocurrency space claiming authorship of the Bitcoin white paper, has suffered another legal setback. Wright’s claim of being Satoshi Nakamoto faced a legal blow as the court dismissed his appeal application.

Court Refutes The Craig Wright Allegations of Judicial Bias

According to the report, Lord Justice Arnold stated Wright lacked a reasonable prospect of success, and his evidence proved insufficient to support his claims. Wright had appealed based on the grounds of alleged judicial bias against him and improper treatment of presented evidence,

However, Lord Justice Arnold pointed out that Wright’s claims reflected his disagreement with the judge’s ruling. He emphasized that Wright lacked substantiated evidence to back his claims of actual or apparent bias against him. According to Lord Arnold, the previous judge offered Wright a fair trial.

Furthermore, the court ruled that Wright’s prayers to serve as a substitute expert witness were needless. Notably, Wright had a suitably qualified expert witness, and the judge maintained that his criticism of the treatment of expert witnesses lacked merit. According to the judge, Wright’s expert witness largely agreed with COPA’s witness on several crucial issues. This alignment in views weakens Wright’s case.

Repeated Setbacks in the Quest for Recognition

In an earlier ruling, the UK’s Supreme Court dismissed Wright’s case, claiming the identity of the pseudonymous Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. In that case, Peter McCormack, a renowned Bitcoin advocate, had challenged Wright’s claims of being Nakamoto. Wright responded by trying to use legal means to silence his critics. However, the UK’s Supreme Court blocked the move.

Wright’s various attempts to gain recognition as Nakamoto have failed over the years, and he has been accused of plagiarism several times. In March, a UK court granted a worldwide freezing order (WFO) application instituted by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA). Judge James Mellor then froze £6 million in Wright’s assets.

The Elusive Identity of Satoshi Nakamoto

The identity of Satosi Nakamoto remains an unsolved puzzle and a subject of interest in the cryptocurrency world. HBO even claimed it would reveal Nakamoto’s identity in a documentary to end the speculation about the creator of Bitcoin’s true identity.

However, no conclusive evidence has supported all claims of unveiling Nakamoto.
