FIFA Rivals, a mobile soccer game developed by Mythical Games, is set to release in summer 2025 for iOS and Android platforms. Players can build and manage their own soccer club while competing against others in real-time online matches. The game will also integrate NFTs, with Mythical Games planning to launch its own NFT marketplace for trading soccer player NFTs.
This is not the first time FIFA has experimented with blockchain technology, having partnered with several startups during the 2022 World Cup. NFTs have been making a comeback in the market, with a recent wallet transaction involving Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin generating excitement. However, the NFT market still faces challenges, with 98% of NFTs showing little trading activity and only 0.2% being profitable.
