With $42 billion plan, MicroStrategy will double its Bitcoin stash

MicroStrategy's $42 billion capital plan to double its Bitcoin stockpile surprised the crypto world. Due to its constant Bitcoin acquisition strategy, MicroStrategy is the world's biggest corporate Bitcoin holder. Increasing their BTC stockpile by 4X would give MicroStrategy almost 1 million BTC, or 4.76% of BTC's 21 million supply.

MicroStrategy's creator and executive chairman, Michael Saylor, announced an extraordinary new capital strategy on October 30 that might revolutionize and elevate its position in the digital asset market. Saylor said on X (previously Twitter) that the “21/21 plan” would seek $42 billion in money over three years to boost BTC acquisitions.

MicroStrategy said in a blog post that its $42 billion capital plan would be divided equally between ATM stock and fixed-income securities. This large capital merger will support future BTC acquisitions as the corporation wants to raise its Bitcoin hoard and BTC income to 6-10% yearly from 2025 to 2027.

MicroStrategy's President and CEO, Phong Le, said the company's main goal with the new BTC accumulation strategy is to maximize shareholder value by taking advantage of the digital revolution of capital. He said the 21/21 strategy shows MicroStrategy's commitment to Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset and its desire to employ capital intelligence for yield argumentation.

MicroStrategy reported Q3 2024 BTC acquisition successes in accordance with its strategic Bitcoin acquisition master strategy. The corporation raised $2.1 billion in stock and debt, increasing its Bitcoin holdings by 11% and yielding 5.1%.

MicroStrategy's BTC yield rose 17.8% YTD. The business intelligence firm has also cut its yearly interest expenditure by $24 million, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and financial efficiency.
