RWA Protocol Ondo Finance Partners With Asset Management Giant Wellington Management

Ondo Finance announced it is partnering with Wellington Management, one of the leading asset managers, making it the latest major traditional finance player to plunge into tokenized securities. The partnership will see Wellington offer the Delta Wellington Ultra Short Treasury On-Chain Fund, a new addition to the tokenized real-world asset market.

The effort is being facilitated by Libeara, a financial technology company backed by the venture division of Standard Chartered. As part of the partnership, Ondo brings its 24/7 redemption functionality, which gives investors the right to manage or exit a position at any time, which is crucial for integrating with DeFi protocols.

According to Ondo Finance CEO Nathan Allman, constant redemption accessibility is a core strategic necessity. It serves as the foundational reason why tokenized assets can be used as collateral and why cross-border settlements can take place throughout the digital asset ecosystem.

This comes at a time when the RWA market has grown at an astonishing rate; total assets have expanded more than 60% in 2024 alone to break through the $13 billion threshold. The trend reflects an institutional position of an increasing nature, which is set toward bridging traditional finance with blockchain technology.

Ondo Finance has also partnered with the world's largest asset manager BlackRock. It is already facilitating BlackRock's BUIDL fund for redemptions, the biggest tokenized treasury fund by market capitalization at $533 million.
