Len Sassaman is currently leading the odds on Polymarket to be revealed as Satoshi Nakamoto in HBO’s upcoming documentary, Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, with a 14.5% chance of being named Bitcoin’s creator.

Following closely behind is Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, holding a 13% chance. Nick Szabo, once at 27.9%, has now dropped to 11.6%. David Kleiman follows with a 5.3% likelihood, while Hal Finney currently stands at 3.5%.

The shift in betting odds comes after producer Cullen Hoback revealed that he confronted someone he believes is Satoshi Nakamoto, which likely rules out Sassaman, who passed away in 2011.

Hoback stated, “I think their reaction is in some ways more telling than even the evidence itself.” emphasizing the importance of identifying Nakamoto’s true identity.

Hoback’s comments also make it unlikely that Hal Finney, who received the first Bitcoin transaction from Nakamoto and died in 2014, is the creator. Other notable figures, such as jailed software programmer Paul Le Roux and billionaire Elon Musk, have low odds, while the “Other/Multiple” option leads at 37%.

While Szabo has denied being Nakamoto, his previous work on Bit Gold is seen as a precursor to Bitcoin. The documentary is set to air at 2:00 AM UTC on October 9, and it promises to reveal a specific name, hinting at a single creator behind Bitcoin.

Len Sassaman’s lead in the odds suggests strong interest in his potential connection to Satoshi Nakamoto. As speculation continues, the documentary could reshape the narrative around Bitcoin’s creation.
