In the gaming and cryptocurrency communities, Roblox, the popular online game platform with over 200 million monthly active users, has announced the acceptance of XRP as a payment method. This exciting news comes via an official announcement from BitPay on X (formerly Twitter).

Seamless XRP integration for in-game purchases
XRP, the native digital asset of the Ripple network, has become a viable payment option within the Roblox ecosystem. This integration is managed by the Los Angeles-based company Xsolla, responsible for in-game payments. BitPay is a key partner, ensuring a seamless connection with various cryptocurrency wallets.

Roblox, available on a wide range of platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, boasts an impressive user base of 65.5 million daily active users. Notably, 44% of these users are under the age of 13. In the first quarter of 2023, Roblox users collectively spent approximately $773 million on in-game purchases, underlining the platform’s immense popularity and financial potential.
Xsolla’s commitment to Crypto integration
In August 2022, Xsolla partnered with the automated crypto management platform Coinchange Financials Inc. and the live-streaming social Web3 platform TradeZing to develop a payment solution for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Subsequently, in August 2023, the company joined forces with Crypto.com to integrate Crypto.com’s checkout solution into Xsolla’s Pay Station platform.
The partnership between Xsolla and BitPay dates back to 2014 when Xsolla initially began accepting payments in Bitcoin (BTC). In September 2023, BitPay and Xsolla introduced PayPal USD (PYUSD) payments, further expanding the payment options available to retailers and consumers.
The decision to include XRP as a payment method within the Roblox ecosystem marks a significant step in linking the gaming and cryptocurrency worlds. It not only provides Roblox users with additional flexibility in their payment choices but also positions XRP as a valuable asset in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency space.
