Gary Gensler's pre-speech notes were published by mistake
The preliminary texts of a speech by SEC chairman Gary Gensler, one of the most controversial names of the last period, were mistakenly shared on the institution's web page. While some episodes spread on social media in a short time, Gensler's "An introductory sentence should be put here. It will not scare the markets and we need to be assured that the speech is not intended to show that we expect a crisis in the near term," he wrote.
Gary Gensler, head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), could be the victim of a significant mistake. Before a speech Gensler will make today, some internal correspondence with his colleagues were mistakenly shared on the web page by the SEC.
"Don't be understood as if we were expecting a crisis"
While the SEC's relevant unit organizes Gensler's speech, Gensler also makes some interventions. The head of the SEC recommends an addition to the beginning or any part of the speech that “will give confidence to the markets” and uses the following statements:
“I suggest adding a sentence here or at the beginning of the speech that will give confidence to the markets and will not be understood as if we are expecting a crisis in the near term”
Gensler also gives an example of the sentence that should be written:
“Regulators in the world periodically control and experiment with such mechanisms. So I was already planning to have such a speech. Not only as a capital market regulator, but also as someone with a career in these markets...”
The SEC later removed these posts from the site and as of the minutes when the news was written, there is no statement or information on the subject.
