Immunefi: BNB Chain has lost $1.6 billion due to hacking and rug pulls since its inception

PANews reported on July 11 that according to CoinDesk, the bug bounty platform Immunefi said in its latest report that since the establishment of BNB Chain in 2017, BNB Chain has suffered losses of up to $1.64 billion due to hacker attacks and Rug Pulls. Of these, $1.27 billion was attributed to hacker attacks and the rest were related to Rug Pulls. The report evaluated 228 Rug Pull cases involving $368 million, the largest of which was the DeFiAI Rug Pull case in November 2022, involving $40 million. In contrast, the Ethereum chain has accumulated losses of $3.6 billion, but the report said only 4.4% of them were due to Rug Pulls. After BNB Chain conducted a series of hard forks to address network vulnerabilities, losses in 2023 and 2024 decreased.
