Zero Gravity Labs (OG Labs), the creator of the world’s first Decentralized Artificial Intelligence Operating System (dAIOS), has raised $40 million for its seed funding round from various leading venture capital firms. This comes after the earlier $35 million pre-seed funding round, putting the total committed capital at $325 million. The latest funding round and a $250 million liquid line support OG Labs’ mission to build a secure, decentralized AI ecosystem.
The recent seed raise attracted high-profile investors such as Hack VC, OKX Ventures, Samsung Next, Delphi Digital, and Animoca along with over 200 other backers. Notable supporters include Yat Siu of Animoca, Sandeep Nailwal of Polygon, Bankless Ventures, and Stanford Blockchain Fund. This strong investment pool signals extensive industry confidence in OG Labs’ decentralized AI approach.
oG Labs Decentralizing AI: Secure, Transparent On-Chain Computation
dAIOS has been created with the need for transparency, security, and control in AI. AI development at the present stage is centralized and creates problems to data privacy and monopolization. OG Labs plans to work against the trend with dAIOS, which, unlike other products, will work on-chain and secure data. The processing data of the platform is 50 GB per second for AI computations without the need for off-chain computations.
The secured $250 million liquid line gives OG Labs access to draw on digital asset exchanges with over-the-counter rates. Such an arrangement helps the OG Foundation to foster the decentralized AI ecosystem’s development. OG Labs is going to take advantage of the funds to bring forward its development schedule, hire more professionals to its team, and collaborate with academic institutions to advance the release of the decentralized AI ecosystem.
The vision of OG Labs
Michael Heinrich, co-founder, and CEO of OG Labs said “it is crucial to have decentralization for AI for a few key reasons – AI is becoming the driving force in every sphere of our lives and centralization raises questions about transparency and control. As we grow dAIOS, we are creating a new open-source AI operating system that is secure and available to everyone.”
