A 13-year-old crypto trader from Singapore, known as "ZK," recently faced a terrifying ambush during a face-to-face exchange of 41,550 Singapore dollars ($31,250 USD) for USDT. On September 5, what began as a routine deal turned into a shocking assault, as reported by Protos and BlockBeats.

ZK had arranged the transaction through Telegram with a new seller. Although the meeting was initially set for a public mall, the location was suddenly changed to a nearby parking lot. There, two strangers attacked him, but ZK’s quick instincts kicked in, and he dashed towards a nearby mall, shouting for help. His bravery paid off as the attackers eventually gave up, allowing him to alert the authorities.

Despite the close call, ZK explained that he chose to conduct the transaction in person to avoid high transaction fees. Fortunately, Singapore police acted quickly and apprehended two suspects, aged 15 and 16, who are believed to be connected to the assault.

This intense encounter serves as a reminder of the risks involved in in-person crypto exchanges and the importance of prioritizing safety in such trades.
