VanEck Forecasts Bitcoin Could Reach $52 Million by 2050
Asset manager VanEck has predicted that Bitcoin could reach over $2.9 million per coin by 2050, with an even more optimistic scenario suggesting a price of $52,386,207 per coin.
This projection is based on factors such as the decline of current reserve currencies, increasing attractiveness of Bitcoin, and advancements in scaling technologies.
According to VanEck's digital assets researchers, Matthew Sigel and Patrick Bush, Bitcoin's potential to become a key medium of exchange and store of wealth could lead central banks and long-term investors to hold more BTC, thereby reducing its available supply and driving up its price.
The report estimates that if central banks allocate 2.5% of their assets to Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency's price could rise to $2.9 million.
Should global trade increasingly adopt Bitcoin and its supply decrease, the price could reach over $52 million.
However, the report cautions that Bitcoin must overcome scaling challenges to achieve this level of adoption.
Currently, Bitcoin is trading at $66,488, up 3.5% in the last 24 hours.
