In the last 72 hours, memecoin founders have raised millions in Solana (SOL) through controversial pre-sales of tokens such as Book of Meme (BOME), $NAP (NAP), and Nostalgia (NOS). It is estimated that cryptocurrency traders have sent around $100 million in SOL to purchase these new memecoins. An early investor in BOME turned an initial investment of 420.69 SOL (approximately $72,000) into $32 million in less than 3 days. 😲
These pre-sales can be risky, as there is no guarantee of receiving tokens in exchange for the crypto sent. Ethereum educator Anthony Sassano criticized this model, calling it “silly.”
