Worldcoin is a project that seeks to create a global digital identity by recording people's irises. The goal of the initiative is to have this biometric record of the entire population, highlighting the global scale of the initiative. One of the focuses of the project is to disseminate a safe way to "differentiate humans from artificial intelligence on the internet".
Worldcoin consists of World ID - a digital identity that seeks to "preserve privacy" - and, "where the law allows", a digital currency - the WLD cryptocurrency - which is "given to a person simply because they are a human". So basically you sell your unique, and only your biometric data by scanning your
eye iris for some money. What in my opinion is just unacceptable, and being in a country where it alredy is working, I will never participate in that project.
