🇺🇸6 JUMBO JETS, ONE GIANT DODGE: APPLE AIRLIFTS IPHONES TO BEAT TRUMP TARIFFS
Apple just pulled off a high-stakes hardware heist — against the calendar.
To dodge Trump’s Liberation Day tariff blitz, the company chartered 6 jumbo jets loaded with iPhones, roughly 1.5 million units, from India to the U.S.
The goal: beat looming tariffs that could have pushed iPhone prices past $2,300.
Inspection times were slashed, Foxconn factories in Chennai ran on Sundays, and production was cranked 20% above normal to fill the planes.
Why the rush? Analysts warned tariffs on China-made iPhones (still most of them) could push prices up 43%, with base models leaping from $799 to $1,142.
A delegation of top U.S officials has arrived at the Russian consulate in Istanbul, where they'll be meeting with their Russian counterparts to untangle years of bureaucratic gridlock between their embassies.
The talks aim to restore basic diplomatic functions — like issuing visas and accessing frozen consulates — that have been strained since the Ukraine war reignited Cold War tensions.
Both sides stress: this isn’t about ending the war, just making diplomacy... diplomatically possible again.
