🚀ZynCoin founder, Colton Kirkpatrick, has successfully dodged a legal bullet from tobacco giant, Philip Morris. The company, which owns Zyn, a nicotine pouch, demanded Kirkpatrick to put his token, named after the pouch, in the ashtray.🚬

Kirkpatrick, however, stood his ground and reached a compromise. The prefix "zyn" will stay, but minor changes in marketing will be made.🤝

Philip Morris wanted to extinguish Zyncoin entirely, but soon realized they couldn't easily sue or stop the coin due to its decentralized nature.💡

The compromise? Add a dollar sign in front of "Zyn" to indicate it's a cryptocurrency and remove references to specific canisters to avoid brand confusion.💲

This case could be a sign of future disputes as meme coins named after celebs or products without formal ties proliferate. But, it also shows that brands can only do so much to stop crypto projects from piggybacking on their names.🐷

So, what do you think? Is this a victory for decentralized projects or a warning for future meme coins? Drop your thoughts below!👇#DeFi #Web3 #ZynCoin
