Weekly Highlights
Completed a framework upgrade of the CESS Node, addressing issues where some benchmark cases failed post-upgrade.
We optimized the data query permission management logic and cache refresh strategy for lightweight cache nodes, mitigating flooding attacks between nodes.
We updated the go-sdk developer guide and the official CESS documentation, improving accessibility and user experience.
CESS was invited by Genzio Media to participate in multiple events, including the Genzio WEB3 Social Roast, Cake & Taco Party, Media House at Consensus 2024, Marketers Brunch, and Founders BBQ.
CESS sponsored the Duke Web3 Investor Series at Consensus 2024, collaborating with top institutions like Duke Fuqua and Duke Fuqua Blockchain Club to host hackathons and Web3 events, showcasing innovations in decentralized storage and CD²N.
Project Development Details
The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Node [v0.7.6]
Fixed issues where some benchmark cases failed tests following a Substrate upgrade.
Completed the deployment and testing of cross-chain contracts between the CESS chain and Ethereum.
Upgraded the Dockerfile for CESS Node and resolved some deployment issues.
Optimized the TEE Worker codebase by removing obsolete test units, and streamlining the code.
Upgraded the intel-sgx-env image to the latest version to match the updated TEE Worker codebase.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and Content Decentralized Delivery Network (CD²N) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Optimized the data query and cache refresh strategies for lightweight cache nodes to mitigate flooding attacks.
Updated the go-sdk developer guide with new explanations and code examples for functions within the codebase.
Blockchain Explorer (Substats):
Completed basic functionality tests for the new version of the blockchain browser.
CESS Website (cess.cloud)
Optimized the structure of the official CESS documentation, reorganizing content categories to facilitate easier navigation.
Implemented a backend management system for the DAO cloud mining activity and genesis nodes on the official website to enhance user participation experiences.
Testnet
Overview:
123 days after the v0.7.6 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
28 consensus nodes
10,058 storage nodes
21.73 PiB verified storage space
32.50 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
Community Activities
CESS was invited to participate in several events hosted by Genzio Media, showcasing our commitment to engaging with the broader Web3 community. These events included the Genzio WEB3 Social Roast: Pro and Con Debate, where thought leaders discussed the pros and cons of Web3 technologies;
The Genzio Cake & Taco Party, a social gathering for networking and fun; The Genzio Media House at Consensus 2024, which provided a platform for media interactions and insights into the latest industry trends;
The Genzio Marketers Brunch focused on strategies for reaching the next billion users;
and the Genzio Founders BBQ, an informal meet-up for founders to share experiences and foster collaborations.
CESS sponsored the Duke Web3 Investor Series at Consensus 2024, collaborating closely with Duke Fuqua, Duke Fuqua Blockchain Club, and other top institutions to host hackathons and Web3 events.
Also, CESS participated at Consensus24 for the DePIN & AI Infra Meetup & C(S)hill with zkPass, where we explored the innovative technologies of decentralized storage and CD²N. Discover how CESS is revolutionizing the industry.
