Binance fined $4.4 million by Canadian financial regulator
🤷 Binance has been fined $4.4 million by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) for violations related to anti-money laundering regulations.
👀 The penalty was imposed because Binance failed to register as a foreign money services business and did not report #transactions involving virtual currency that exceeded 10,000 Canadian dollars.
Binance ceased operations in Canada last year.
