According to PANews, the African Union (AU) Executive Council has approved the 'Continental Artificial Intelligence Strategy,' aimed at promoting the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across member states, including Nigeria, in both public and private sectors. This strategic plan outlines several key recommendations to enhance AI integration and utilization within the continent.

The strategy emphasizes the establishment of an integrated hardware and software environment specifically designed for AI and machine learning workloads, facilitating efficient data processing and deployment. Additionally, it highlights the importance of creating an AI governance framework to guide the public sector's adoption of AI technologies. The strategy also aims to incorporate AI into the key areas outlined in the Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that AI contributes to the continent's long-term development objectives.
