According to PANews, OP Labs has launched fault proofs on its L2 blockchain OP Mainnet, as reported by The Block. The fault proof system allows the extraction of Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens from the OP Mainnet without the need for a trusted third party. Fault proof is a mechanism of the Ethereum L2 network that allows users to contest potential fraud or incorrect transactions.

Previously, the OP Mainnet did not have fault proof, thus requiring users to trust the operator to submit accurate state roots to the mainnet. In the future, fault proof will be extended to other L2s built on the OP Stack, including Base, Metal, Mode, and Zora.
