How many traders actually make a profit each year?
Why do most new traders fail?
Do most traders lose money in all markets?
What is the percentage of novices who will quit trading in the first year?
Meet Bob, a guy who's losing money trading stocks. That’s no surprise as 80% of traders quit within their first year, and only 1.6% actually see any profit after fees by the year’s end.
Majority lose because they don’t truly grasp how the markets operate, what drives stock and commodity price fluctuations, or how to balance risk and reward. They also lack the discipline to stick to a strategy and instead turn trading into gambling.
Even seasoned traders aren't much better than Bob. A study from the University of California analyzed 2 million trades made by investors and found their profits would’ve been higher if they had simply picked random stocks.
By the way, speaking about so-called “trading courses”, why would successful traders sell their courses and private consultations if they can make millions by flipping stocks? The reason is they can’t make consistent profits and have to make money by teaching someone like Bob.
Absolute majority of traders end up losing money in every market — be it stocks, commodities, currencies, or crypto.
