BChat Web3 Messenger has now integrated a wallet feature, enabling users to send and receive native cryptocurrency BDX. Launched in June 2022, BChat enables its users to send encrypted messages over a decentralized network. The app has since then added features such as encryption, peer to peer voice and video calls.
Web3 messaging applications like BChat have been working to combine both messaging and payments, similar to traditional instant messengers. But what sets them apart is how user data is handled. They are censorship resistant and do not collect personal information.
The application is cross-platform and it is available for android, iOS and desktop devices. It has over 100000 downloads on PlayStore, which indicates the growing need for privacy-preserving messengers. While blockchains provide a level of privacy and autonomy, identifying recipients using their wallet address is difficult.
BChat tags a user’s BChat ID and wallet address, enabling one can easily verify the wallet address of the person they’re chatting with.
The Beldex ecosystem, including BChat, is powered by BDX, whose use cases and utilities lie within and outside the ecosystem. With over 300000 community members and 1500+ masternodes distributed across the globe, BChat is one of the fastest growing decentralized private messengers.
Beldex is a private ecosystem building decentralized, private applications such as BChat (a Web3 messaging app), BelNet (an onion routing protocol based dVPN), Beldex Browser (an ad-free Web3 browser), and the Beldex Privacy Protocol (a cross-chain anonymizer).
The Beldex Research Labs is the research wing of the project that deals with scaling the blockchain and adding EVM compatibility to it for the deployment of privacy-preserving smart contracts.
