Cardano (ADA) has launched its pivotal Node 10.1 update, setting the stage for the eagerly awaited Chang 2 hard fork—a major upgrade poised to redefine on-chain governance. This release empowers ADA holders with new decision-making abilities, making it a landmark moment for Cardano and its community. $ADA

With ADA’s price surging over 8% in the past 24 hours to $0.358, Cardano is riding a wave of renewed interest in the crypto market. Investors are showing heightened enthusiasm amid global events, including news of Republican candidate Donald Trump securing a second presidential term.

Building on the September Chang 1 hard fork, the Chang 2 upgrade will allow ADA token holders to participate directly in the platform’s evolution. Through Cardano's new governance system, users can delegate their voting power to Delegated Representatives (DReps) or become a DRep themselves, ensuring the community has a voice in Cardano’s future.

Beyond governance, Node 10.1 brings valuable technical improvements for developers and Stake Pool Operators (SPOs), introducing new Plutus primitives for more powerful smart contract functionality and better support for SPOs. These updates aim to make building and operating on Cardano more efficient, attracting more decentralized applications and enhancing network robustness.

For Chang 2 to be fully implemented, it requires the support of the Interim Constitutional Committee (ICC) and a 51% stake approval from SPOs. Once these conditions are met, a one-epoch ratification period will lead to the full activation of the hard fork. Cardano’s oversight body, Intersect, has been actively engaging with the community, urging SPOs, exchanges, and developers to update their systems for compatibility with Node 10.1.1. To ease the transition, Intersect will provide ongoing updates and host Q&A sessions to address any concerns from the Cardano community.

With Chang 2, Cardano is bringing its vision of a community-driven blockchain closer to reality, offering enhanced governance and technical capabilities that signal a new era for the ADA network. This hard fork represents more than just an upgrade; it’s a step towards a more decentralized, innovative, and inclusive future for Cardano’s growing ecosystem.
