**Crypto Wallet Drained in $32M Phishing Attack**
A wallet ending in "e57" was hit by a sophisticated phishing attack on Sept. 27, losing 12,083 Spark Wrapped Ethereum tokens (spWETH), valued at $32 million. Security firm CertiK reported that 10,000 spWETH, worth around $26 million, was initially transferred to a wallet starting with "0x471c" and then distributed to four additional wallets.

- 2,613 ETH to "0x278d"
- 3,730 ETH to "0x408d"
- 1,865 ETH to "0xfaf2"
Arkham Intelligence suggested the compromised wallet might belong to F2Pool founder Shixing Mao, but this remains unconfirmed.
**Phishing Attacks Surge in August 2024**
Crypto phishing attacks skyrocketed by 215% in August 2024, with losses exceeding $66 million, according to Scam Sniffer. One wallet alone lost $55 million in a single attack.
**AngelX Phishing Software Upgrade**
Blockaid's September 2024 report revealed that the Angel Drainer phishing software was upgraded to AngelX, deploying over 300 phishing DApps in just four days. AngelX now targets newer blockchain networks like TON and Tron, featuring a control panel that allows for highly customized phishing scams.
**Search Engines Display Malicious Links**
On Sept. 11, Scam Sniffer reported that search engine DuckDuckGo displayed fraudulent Etherscan sites, tricking users into connecting their MetaMask wallets and exposing their funds to hackers.
