We have two categories for web services today.
1. Centralized
2. Decentralized
You can technically build any web service using either of these paradigms.
While the North Star for Web3 is completely decentralized services, we need to build a path for centralized services to become decentralized.
The best way for existing centralized services to start their Web3 journey is to try experimental attempts at Decentralization.
Examples:
1. A centralized game could try to convert game assets into NFTs
2. Banks could try integrating stablecoins
3. Social media products could allow decentralized identity
There are many ideas for Web2 to start working towards being Web3 ready.
As the Web3 ecosystem matures, we will see every Web2 product having a piece of Decentralization in them.
Web3 will be far larger than Web2 as a result of this transition. We just have to build the path for this to happen 💪
