  • Trump leads Harris by 4% in a recent poll, highlighting a tight 2024 presidential race.

  • Polymarket shows Harris slightly favored, indicating election outcome uncertainty.

  • Social media, polls, and prediction markets reveal conflicting signals in the 2024 race.

Former President Donald Trump has gained a slight advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris in a recent national poll as the 2024 U.S. presidential election race intensifies. The poll, conducted by Rasmussen Reports from August 8 to August 14, shows that Trump leads Harris by 4%, with 49% of likely voters supporting Trump and 45% favoring Harris.

The Rasmussen poll, noted for its accuracy in previous elections, surveyed 1,885 likely voters. Trump’s lead in this poll represents a significant development in his campaign, especially as he emphasizes his pro-crypto stance to attract a broader electorate.

However, despite this polling advantage, the situation remains complex, as prediction markets like Polymarket offer a contrasting outlook. On Polymarket, Harris is slightly favored with a 51% probability of winning the election, while Trump’s chances stand at 47%.

This discrepancy between traditional polling data and prediction markets underscores the volatility and uncertainty of the current political landscape. Earlier, both candidates were tied on Polymarket, reflecting the fluctuating nature of voter sentiment as the election approaches.

Donald Trump has been actively campaigning, particularly on social media platforms like Truth Social and X (formerly Twitter), where he has intensified his criticism of Kamala Harris. In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump labeled Harris a “communist,” asserting that her leadership would lead to the rapid decline of the United States.

He reinforced this claim by criticizing the Biden administration’s handling of immigration, sharing data that suggests a significant surge in illegal immigration since Biden took office.

Adding to the political tension, tech billionaire Elon Musk has weighed in on the ongoing discourse. Musk, who has previously supported Trump, has been active on X, where he has amplified posts critical of Harris and the Democratic Party.

The recent changes in the relations of opinion polls, prediction markets and the social media influence cast their effect on the string of the 2024 presidential race as both the candidates step up their campaigns.
