Hours after an attempt was made on his life, American presidential candidate Donald Trump has shared that what happened isn’t going to stop him from attending the Bitcoin 2024 conference later this month in Nashville, Tennesse.

Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey confirmed this, saying that Trump still plans to give his speech at the conference on July 25-27. David stated:

“We know you have questions about security and what to expect at this historic event. We are actively engaged with our security teams and are fully cooperating with all the relevant parties to ensure a safe event. Please be patient with us as we get this information out.”

David was the one who shared that Trump was going to attend in the first place. He’s one of his campaign advisors.

According to David, the fact that a potential future President of the United States will be addressing the global Bitcoin community will do miracles for crypto’s adoption worldwide. At one of his rallies a few weeks back, Trump said:

“I will make sure that the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA and not driven overseas. I will support the right to self-custody. And I will never allow the creation of the Central Bank Digital Currency.”

The Chinese and Russian governments have publicly shared their support for Trump and condemned political violence. So did the presidents of El Salvador and Argentina, Nayib Bukele and Javier Milei.

Polymarket showed that Trump’s chances of winning increased from 60% to 70% in minutes, while Biden’s chances were only 16%. Memecoins such as TREMP, TRUMP and MAGA rose sharply. Even DOGE and SHIB caught the Trump-infused bull bug.

The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the suspect in an attempted assassination.

According to state voter records, Crooks is a registered Republican. At 17, he made a $15 donation to a Democratic political action committee.

Last year, he even appeared in a commercial for Bitcoin-friendly asset manager BlackRock. Elon Musk commented, saying the last time America had a presidential candidate as tough as Trump was Theodore Roosevelt.
