💥Railgun, the crypto privacy protocol, just played superhero by thwarting Inferno Drainer's attempt to launder 174 Ether (around $533,000). 🦸‍♂️🚀

Alan Scott Jr, a Railgun contributor, said, "The tokens could only return to the attacker's address — they were not welcome in RAILGUN." This was thanks to Railgun's automated private proofs of innocence (PPOI) system.

This new tech ensures that tokens sent by malicious actors can only be returned to the initial shielding wallet. It's like a bouncer at a club, but for crypto transactions. 💪🔒

Established in 2021, Railgun uses zero-knowledge (ZK) cryptography to hide wallet balances, transaction history, and details. This allows users to interact with decentralized apps (DApps) on Ethereum or other supported chains privately.

The PPOI system, launched in 2023, ensures that tokens entering the Railgun smart contract are not associated with known undesirable transactions or actors.

Inferno Drainer, the villain of our story, has stolen over $180 million in crypto from over 189,000 victims since its inception in 2023. But thanks to Railgun, it looks like their days of crypto crime are numbered. 🕵️‍♂️💰
