Andrew Tate’s meme coin, Daddy, is now a payment option for hotel, flight, and car bookings on Travala, the online travel agency. The influencer announced this development on Tuesday, shortly after being permitted to travel across Europe by a Romanian court.

Tate took to X to inform his followers, stating, “To prepare for the $Daddy world tour, you can now purchase car rentals, flights, and hotels directly in $Daddy on Travala.” In a recent social media video, Tate, 37, disclosed plans for a global tour following his release from house arrest.

Daddy token tanks nearly 10%

Travala, a booking service operating on Binance’s BNB Smart Chain, facilitates commission-free transactions for its users. The agency’s website indicates that they offer booking services for over 2.2 million hotels globally, accepting various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Daddy token joins a diverse list of cryptocurrencies accepted by Travala.

Travala hinted at the partnership with Tate on X, stating, “Something huge and exciting is on the horizon for $Daddy! Keep your eyes peeled, and stay tuned.” The influencer later confirmed this collaboration. Following the announcement, Daddy’s price fell 8% to $0.1453, according to CoinGecko, with a trading volume of $14.6 million in 24 hours. Since its launch on June 9, the token has dropped over 48% from its peak of $0.2849 on June 28, resulting in a total market cap decrease to $91.9 million.

In contrast to past celebrity endorsements, Tate has actively issued and promoted his Daddy token, marking a new trend in meme coin culture. Recently, other celebrities, such as Nigerian musician Davido, U.S. media personality Caitlyn Jenner, and rapper Izzy Azalea, launched their meme coins on Solana and promoted them on X.

Andrew Tate released from house arrest

Tate, a former professional kickboxer, and his brother were detained in December 2022 in Bucharest on charges including human trafficking, rape, and sexual exploitation. Along with two local women, they were formally indicted in June 2023 but have denied all allegations. Tate was placed under house arrest, restricting him from leaving Bucharest.

On July 5, a Romanian tribunal allowed Tate to leave Romania but not the European Union, as reported by the Associated Press. Following the ruling, Tate declared on X, “I am free. For the first time in 3 years, I can leave Romania. The sham case is falling apart.”

Travala partnership and Daddy token impact

The partnership between Travala and Tate is significant for both parties. For Travala, it adds another cryptocurrency to its payment options, enhancing its appeal to crypto enthusiasts. This collaboration boosts Daddy’s utility for Tate despite its recent price decline. The move underscores the growing trend of integrating cryptocurrencies into mainstream services, offering users more flexibility and promoting wider adoption.

Travala’s acceptance of the Daddy token could stabilize its market value and attract more users. However, its recent price drop highlights the volatility inherent in meme coins. Investors and users will closely monitor this partnership’s impact on Daddy’s performance in the crypto market.
