Australia's Federal Police (AFP) has seized a whopping $6.4M in cryptocurrency during a global crackdown on Ghost, an encrypted messaging app allegedly used by criminals. Dubbed Operation Kraken (no relation to the crypto exchange Kraken 🐙), this effort led to the arrest of Jay Je Yoon Jung, the alleged mastermind behind Ghost.

The AFP's massive operation involved 700 officers, 93 search warrants, and resulted in 46 arrests, 50 life-threat interventions, and the seizure of 30 illicit weapons and 200 kg of drugs. 💥
