A court in Tashkent sentenced a Termez State University student to 10 days of detention for selling Notcoin, following the introduction of regulations against the illegal sale of cryptoassets in Uzbekistan earlier this year.

The Chilanzar District Criminal Court in Tashkent handed down the sentence to the 24-year-old student, identified as I.N., for his involvement in selling Notcoin. Gazeta.uz reviewed the court's decision.

According to the case details, the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate received a complaint on June 1 and conducted an investigation. It was found that I.N. used his phone and plastic card for illegal cryptoasset transactions.

During the court hearing, I.N. admitted to the offense, explaining that he had acquired the cryptoasset through Telegram and sold Notcoin for 800,000 soums. He requested leniency from the court, claiming ignorance of the law and highlighting that he is the sole breadwinner for his family.
