❗️ A16z Acquires $90 Million in OP Tokens
🗞 Venture giant Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has purchased OP tokens from Optimism for $90 million, according to Unchained.
🔍 Recall that in early March, the Optimism Foundation sold approximately 19.5 million OP tokens at a private auction for $89 million. At the time, neither the identity of the buyer nor the specific terms of the sale were disclosed.
🧐 However, the crypto community now speculates that a16z could very well have been the buyer.
🪙 According to that agreement, the tokens will be locked for two years, but with the possibility to delegate them to third parties for governance voting.
✅ Currently, the price of $OP is $2.70.
