The large number of top projects in which many cryptans participate for the sake of airdrop have one unifying factor underneath. They are based on rollups, which can provide transaction processing speed and scalability and decentralization.

🟣In short, zkEVM is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZK) and is designed to perform smart contracts, but using Zero-Knowledge Proof cryptography.

🟣It is divided into three parts: the execution environment, the verification scheme and the verifier contract. This rollup combines a huge number of off-chain transactions into one that is done only after verification. This is the main advantage of ZK - secure transfers.

🟣Optimistic Rollups is an L 2 solution, a sidechain to take some of the load off the main Ethereum network. It differs from ZK in that it transmits transactions without calculations or checks, which leads to increased scalability.
