Investors Should Add Bitcoin to Assets
Billionaire founder of Interactive Brokers Group, Thomas Peterffy has advised clients to acquire some bitcoin but to keep their holdings small due to the volatility of the asset.
Speaking on Wednesday in a Bloomberg interview, Peterffy said,
“I would recommend that people put maybe 2% to 3% of their net worth into bitcoin. I think anybody who does not have bitcoin should have some bitcoin.”
However, Peterffy who has an estimated $53 billion net worth, based on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index sounded a note of caution on crypto investments, due to their rapid price fluctuations.
“We (Interactive Brokers) for example will not allow anyone to invest more than 10% of their assets into bitcoin because I think that would be very dangerous.”
According to Peterffy, reduced regulation and interference with private enterprise will be the main effects of the incoming Donald Trump presidency. He also expressed optimism about the upcoming four years with possibilities for pro-growth policies.
