Phishing Scam Promotes Fake Token
The fake tweet from OpenAI's newsroom account reportedly announced the release of a new blockchain token named "$OPENAI." Additionally, the post urged OpenAI users to claim the token and offered entry into future beta programs.
The phishing site connected to the tweet mirrored the OpenAI website, luring users into handing over their cryptocurrency wallet credentials. The entry was visible from 6:24 PM ET until approximately an hour later, when it was deleted, possibly reaching many of its followers.

The message included errors, such as misspelling the token as "$OPEANAI.”The lack of a comment section made it difficult for users to recognize the scam.
