Hamster Kombat has entered a new season: What's the latest on the airdrop?

Hamster Kombat's interim season was launched on Telegram on Friday, and the developers have made changes to the system while calculating the airdrop distribution.

A new season has begun in Hamster Kombat, one of Telegram's most popular tap-to-earn games. The in-game token system has changed, and tapping the home screen no longer seems to earn you anything. Likewise, the list of crypto exchange upgrades and the mining menu are no longer in the game.

You can now earn in-game diamonds by playing both local and cooperative games, inviting friends, following the game's social media accounts, and watching Hamster Kombat videos on YouTube. There's also a new Mine submenu buried in the Playground game menu, where you can buy and upgrade starter-themed cards with diamonds, which will allow you to earn even more diamonds.

The game developers have long promised a next season with rewards earned by playing after the airdrop, but this interim period, along with the HMSTR listing, marks a transitional phase.

The HMSTR token will be minted on The Open Network (TON) on September 26th, and the airdrop distribution is likely to be announced to players before then. With over 300 million players to date and around 100 million active players in the last month, TON developers have warned that airdrop demand could negatively impact the network. Network outages are likely as players demand HMSTRs.
