Buterin Denies Selling Ethereum for Personal Profit.

Vitalik Buterin, one of Ethereum's co- founders, has firmly denied accusations of selling Ethereum (ETH) for personal gain. Buterin clarified that ETH sales were conducted solely to fund Web3 initiatives and charitable organizations, underscoring his long- term commitment to the blockchain sector. His remarks received significant backing from the crypto community, which emphasized his efforts to uphold his ethical stance in the cryptocurrency world.

Buterin's ETH Sales Explained.

On August 30, Buterin faced allegations from a user on X, claiming he sold 800 ETH, valued at around $2 million. The onchain analysis firm Lookonchain indicated that the same wallet received 3,000 ETH from Buterin on August 9. Buterin countered these accusations by stating that these sales were made expressly to support crypto projects and charitable endeavors. In a recent post on X, he defended his entitlement to generate profit from ETH sales acquired over the past seven years.

He emphasized that none of the ETH sales were for his personal gain, and all proceeds went towards projects within the Ethereum ecosystem and broader charitable efforts. Buterin specifically pointed out that he has not personally profited from any ETH sales since 2018.

Community Stands by Buterin.

Buterin's statements garnered extensive support from the crypto community. Numerous users argued that he has the right to benefit from ETH sales and that these transactions were within ethical limits. Some community members even endorsed the notion of Buterin owning a luxury yacht.

Additionally, Buterin defended Ethereum's stance on decentralized finance (DeFi). Addressing criticisms that he did not fully grasp the significance of DeFi, Buterin reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of permissionlessness and decentralization, which are foundational to the Ethereum network. Despite criticisms from notable crypto figures like Kain Warwick, Buterin maintained that Ethereum would continue to prioritize sustainable and beneficial applications.
