The Republican Party, also known as the GOP, is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy took the stage at Messariâs Mainnet crypto conference on Wednesday evening and announced some wonderful plans to release a âcomprehensive #crypto policy frameworkâ by Thanksgiving.
Ryan Selkis, CEO of a data company Messari, Ramaswamyâs brief remarks â which touched on recent SEC rulings and cryptoâs role as a disruptor for traditional finance â painted a generally rosy picture of blockchain technology and delivered a scathing indictment of âthree-letterâ regulatory agencies.
Ramaswamy said he has ârelatively strong views on what the future of governmental interface with crypto should be,â zeroing in on what he called an âunconstitutional fourth branch of governmentâ â regulators.
âThat is the cancer at the heart of our federal government today,â said Ramaswamy. âMost of the political power is manipulated by people who are never elected to their positions that sit in the back of three-letter government agency buildings in Washington DC
Ramaswamyâs remarks speak to cryptoâs growing prominence in the U.S. political landscape. As Selkis noted as he welcomed Ramaswamy to the stage, âIf you told me a couple of years ago that we'd have a major presidential candidate talking at a crypto conference, I don't think anyone would have believed it.â
