Astroport responds to the Terra chain security incident: it is collaborating with other chains and Cosmos builders to determine remedial measures.

Odaily reports that Astroport posted a message on X stating that the Terra chain has temporarily halted emergency upgrades. Attackers used an IBC vulnerability to mint several tokens on the Terra chain, including ASTRO. Since the chain is now stopped, no new tokens can be minted at this time. Astroport contributors are working with other chains and Cosmos builders to determine what measures can be taken, and will announce new information in a timely manner. As a reminder, please be wary of any fraud information and phishing links.

Earlier today, JohnGalt, the Head of Strategy at Stride in the Cosmos ecosystem, posted that a hacker had used the recent Astroport code to mint tens of millions of ASTRO out of thin air on Neutron, and had already sold 15 million ASTRO, with 39 million ASTRO still available for sale.
