According to BlockBeats, on July 16, Polygon announced the latest version of its zero-knowledge proof system, Plonky3, which aims to be more flexible than previous models. The proof system is a core component of zero-knowledge rollups and a crucial part of multi-layer distributed network encryption security.

This technology is responsible for creating proofs that summarize off-chain transactions, allowing information to be relayed back to foundational blockchains like Ethereum. The system ensures that transactions are executed correctly or that the blockchain state has been accurately updated.

Plonky3 is now available as open-source software under MIT and Apache licenses.
