Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has appointed former TV host Gracy Chen as its new chief executive, succeeding Sandra Lou.

Bitget‘s veteran Sandra Lou is leaving the cryptocurrency exchange Bitget she led since the firm’s establishment in 2018. In a blog post on May 21, Bitget said that Gracy Chen will now serve as the company’s new chief executive, succeeding Sandra Lou, who will be leaving the platform “to pursue her own business goals.”

“I’m thrilled to continue to be part of shaping this industry that is on the edge of innovation, empowering the future of digital finance.”

Chen joined Bitget as its first managing director in June 2022, leading the exchange’s international growth strategies. Before joining Bitget, she worked as a host on the crypto TV show “Killer Whales.”

Lou’s departure comes just four months after multiple users on X reported that senior Bitget executives had allegedly disappeared and that the exchange was facing solvency issues. In response to these widespread rumors, Chen categorically denied the claims, reassuring customers that “everything at Bitget is working well” and adding that “the whole team is diligently preparing for the next bull run.”
