• Fans love Baldur's Gate 3, but want more species and class diversity, smoother gameplay, and a better user interface.

Players want a greater variety of races and companions, fixes to performance issues, and a better UI.

Larian Studios is updating Baldur's Gate 3 based on feedback to improve the player experience.

The critically acclaimed RPG Baldur's Gate 3 has received widespread praise from fans and critics alike since its release. However, amidst the chorus of praise, there has been some dissonance, with fans voicing concerns about certain aspects of the game.

One common criticism concerns the linear development of the first act: some players find it very difficult to navigate the Grove and the impending goblin invasion, especially if you start from the beginning.

The lack of diversity in playable races also causes dissatisfaction. Most of the recruited companions are humans or elves, which leaves little room for other unique races.

Another source of dissatisfaction is the lack of companions for DandD's main classes. According to fans, each main class should have its own companion, and many in the gaming community share this opinion. The problem is exacerbated by the duplication of classes among the available companions, which is perceived as an imbalance and a missed opportunity for self-expression.

Despite the praise, Baldur's Gate 3 is not without technical flaws. Performance issues, especially in the third act, have been a persistent problem since the game's launch. While most of the game is relatively bug-free, there are notable issues in the third act that the developers themselves admit, and Larian Studios continues to struggle with these performance issues in order to improve the overall player experience.

As Baldur's Gate 3 develops, player feedback will undoubtedly determine its trajectory.
