According to Rootdata, there are a total of 1178 fundraisings in Web3, worth 2.839 billion US dollars, among which the infrastructure area attracts the most.

The infrastructure area is the focus of the top investment institutions such as #a16z , #binance labs, #Paradigm .

From the above figure, we can see that the infrastructure accounts for a lot of the institutions’ investment. Besides infrastructure, a16z attaches great importance to the game area; Polychain, Coinbase Ventures, and Binance Labs also focus on DeFi;  Paradigm has fewer investments, and the number of its investments in other fields is relatively average.

This article will summarize the promising projects in Web3 infrastructure:

B² Network

B² Network is an EVM-compatible Rollup based on Bitcoin’s zero-knowledge proof verification commitments. Rollup data and zk-proof verification commitments are recorded on the #Bitcoin network and ultimately confirmed through a challenge-response mechanism.

B² Network participated in the road show of the Bitcoin ecological projects held by ABCDE in 2023 and finally received investment. The core members of the B² Network technical team are active members of mainstream open-source communities such as Ethereum and Bitcoin.

This week, B² Network will upgrade from the Alpha Testnet to the Haven Beta Testnet. Their Odyssey mission is also in progress. Go to their official website and click Odyssey to participate.

Mind Network

Mind Network is a zero-trust layer designed to bring the next billion users and trillions of dollars to Web3. Mind Network provides security and data privacy solutions that enable true CrossFi scale and comply with regulatory requirements while adhering to Web3 principles of asset tokenization and personal data ownership. The project was previously selected for Binance Labs’ fifth-season incubation program and Chainlink BUILD program.

On June 29, 2023, Mind Network announced the completion of financing of 2.5 million US dollars from Binance Labs, Comma3 Ventures, SevenX Ventures, HashKey Capital, etc.

Omni Network

Omni Network is Ethereum’s interoperability layer and serves as the core infrastructure supporting all modular applications on Ethereum. When building applications, developers will no longer be forced to build within the confines of a single rollup or execution environment, while they will be able to seamlessly build applications that live everywhere in the #Ethereum ecosystem while accessing all users and all capital. Omni was formerly known as Rift Finance, a DeFi protocol that provides financial services for Web3 projects.

Omni has received a total of 18 million US dollars in financial support from investment institutions including Coinbase Ventures, Jump Capital, Pantera Capital, etc.

Its testnet launched in June 2023. Currently, there is no official news about the airdrop plan.

Wormhole

Wormhole is a decentralized universal messaging protocol that enables developers and users of cross-chain applications to take advantage of multiple ecosystems.

Wormhole, at an estimated valuation of 2.5 billion US dollars, received an investment of 225 million US dollars from Coinbase ventures, Folius Ventures, Multicoin Capital, etc, which is the largest-scale fundraising in 2023.

CESS

CESS is committed to building a distributed cloud storage system based on blockchain, effectively managing distributed resources through the use of virtualization technology, and providing customers with consistent and efficient distributed storage services. The CESS global content delivery network enables users to access their data anytime, anywhere easily.

CESS raised 8 million US dollars in December 2023 from DWF Labs, Infinity Ventures Crypto, etc.

The CESS team won the Web3 Hackathon Competition organized by the Web3 Foundation in 2021 and passed all three milestones funded by W3F and will receive funding from the Web3 Foundation. In its official roadmap, there is a token issuance plan in 2024. At present, CESS has launched campaigns on the task platform TaskOn. You can participate in the testnet phase.
