According to PANews, Russia has issued a warning to the French government regarding potential political actions in the case involving Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. The warning comes after France initiated criminal charges against Durov, which Russia perceives as possible 'political persecution.' Durov, a Russian-born French citizen, was detained in Paris over allegations of failing to control illegal content on the messaging platform. Although he has been released on bail, Durov is required to remain in France and report to the police regularly.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov acknowledged Durov's Russian citizenship and expressed Russia's willingness to offer assistance in the matter.
