A recent initiative by Binance and the Women in Technology Association (Wtech) called the Binance Women in Technology Academy has expanded its reach by offering training to women in the earthquake-stricken area of Hatay, Turkey. The goal of the academy is to bolster Turkey's economic and technological capacity and foster gender equality in the tech sector by increasing women's representation in crypto, blockchain, and web 3.0.

The academy, created with the mission of promoting equal opportunities in technology and enhancing women's financial literacy, conducted training courses in key areas such as financial literacy, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, NFT, and cybersecurity. The training program saw the participation of 80 university women from the earthquake zone.

The academy began operating in January 2024 and its recent graduation ceremony marked the completion of the first round of training. The project is designed to empower women in technology and bridge the gender gap in the sector.

According to Mücahit Dönmez, Binance Turkey's General Manager, the company's support for the earthquake struck region has been a priority since the disaster in February 2024. Initiatives such as building schools in earthquake-impacted regions and the Binance Women in Technology Academy seek to bring about positive change and development.

Going forward, the academy aims to graduate 5,000 women within five years, aspiring to strengthen Turkey's technological and economic power by increasing women's presence in crypto, blockchain, and web 3.0.
