2024: BounceBit's Genesis Year
What started as a vision for accessible institutional yield has grown into a thriving ecosystem with a global impact. As we close out the year, let's reflect on our journey since launching in January:
1/ Our community's strength was evident early on: the Water Margin TVL event saw over 250,000 supporters push us past $1B in TVL, proving that vision and trust can create powerful momentum.
2/ This momentum attracted top investors: @blockchaincap and @BreyerCap led our $6M seed round, with @BinanceLabs joining as a strategic partner, all united in our mission. With these powerhouse backers, we're more ready than ever to revolutionize institutional finance.
3/ Our Testnet, which ran from March 8th through a focused two-month sprint, set the stage for Mainnet. The network handled up to 2M daily transactions and 36M total transactions seamlessly, solidifying the foundation for the new CeDeFi infrastructure.
4/ On April 26th, BounceBit powered the first-ever Binance Megadrop, attracting over 800k participants. This success led to listings on top exchanges like Binance, Bybit, HTX, KuCoin, and Bithumb, further strengthening our global presence.
5/ BounceBit Mainnet went live on May 13th, activating the full ecosystem, from BounceClub to CeDeFi, secured by 25 validators. In just 7 months, we’ve seen nearly 13M transactions across 3.45M accounts, with peaks of 530k daily active users.
6/ We forged strategic partnerships that brought real value, including collaborations with @Ethena Labs for high-yield stablecoins, @OndoFinance to innovate with treasury-backed RWAs, and @GoogleCloud to develop institutional-grade infrastructure. These partnerships are shaping a new financial paradigm.
7/ TOKEN2049 marked our first offline event, where Crazy Crypto Durian and BounceClub Arcade attracted over 3,000 signups, bringing our community together with free durian and classic arcade games.
8/ At October's Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, we presented our vision to a global audience. Our booth consistently drew crowds, and our exclusive @CZ and @Yi He merch became a highlight of the event.
9/ On October 25th, @durianwin became our first CeDeFi ecosystem project, showcasing the power of our infrastructure. Their open beta is live and rapidly evolving, with major updates on the horizon.
10/ November's V2 launch transformed our platform, aligning every product with our vision of "Retail access, institutional yield." The market responded quickly, with 300% TVL growth and over $6M in revenue within the first month.
11/ V2 confirmed our product-market fit, with organic TVL growth achieved without incentive programs. This success made us the second-largest Basis Trade protocol, just behind Ethena.
12/ @BounceBitClub has grown into a comprehensive hub, combining AI agents, Meme launchers, and core DeFi features. We are now expanding into RWA, integrating tokenized stocks trading in Quanto with BB collateral.
13/ In December, we received major validation when Boyaa Interactive, Asia's largest Bitcoin holder, became our largest institutional BB holder. This signals the growing recognition of BounceBit's potential. We also joined Hong Kong's @cyberport_hk, solidifying our place in the tech space.
14/ Our community now exceeds 300k Twitter followers and 200k+ on Discord, becoming a movement. Every member, trade, and interaction has shaped what BB is today. The next step is global expansion, with local communities and events, starting with @bouncebit_kr.
15/ Looking ahead to 2025, we’re set to bridge TradFi and DeFi through dual yields, institutional-grade infrastructure, and meaningful innovation. BounceBit Chain will receive an BTC staking upgrade, and BounceClub will introduce an AI agent upgrade.
