Some Marvel Rivals players suspect that the game is adding bots in matches. Online multiplayer games tend to use bots now and then, but fans feel this feature doesn’t fit in Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals is still a new game with a high player count and competitive play. Fans say bots in the game are ruining the experience.

Usually, bots in games are made to fill spots when there aren’t enough players. However, these bots behave awkwardly, which many gamers don’t appreciate in their experiences.

Games like Fortnite regularly add bots in their matches. Most gamers feel it makes the gameplay unrealistic, as these bots are too easy to defeat. Beginners enjoy victories against bots, while others see them as hollow and pointless because these non-human players aren’t competitive enough to give winners the high they seek.

Marvel Rivals grows more popular but fans complain about bots

A Reddit User, nG_Skyz, said that Marvel Rivals’s bot matches are a waste of time. Some players had not realized the alleged bots and were surprised by the post’s revelation.

Solid-Bed-8974, another commenter, explained why they think bots are in the game. He said after losing two or three rounds in a row, players end up playing a team consisting entirely of bots. These bots are supposedly easy to spot since they’re all level 1 and have restricted profiles. For new players, this may be great, but it’s aggravating for competitive gamers.

Solid-Bed-8974 also highlighted how bots behave. Bots often abuse their abilities, such as using them to target the ground with Ultimates or blindly going for objectives. Furthermore, they also have unfair advantages like instantly locking on to nearby players or tracking opponents that are out of view. They also have unnatural movements. One can observe them while watching the kill cam.

Marvel Rivals could be using bots to retain players in the game

It should be noted that Marvel Rivals’ developer, NetEase Games, hasn’t officially confirmed the presence of bots in the game.

Most people in the comments seem to be against bots in Marvel Rivals. Others think that even if they exist,  players should have the right to refuse bot-filled matches, while some players consider it a cheap tactic to keep one playing the game.

Still, easy wins can have the opposite reaction, too, since a gamer easily gets bored without the adrenaline rush of competing with competent opponents.

Previously, Marvel Rivals added a surrender feature, which allows players to vote to give up the round without an intense losing battle. However, the players did not appreciate this feature. They believed that players should just practice before getting into the actual game to avoid losing.

It’s still quite early for Marvel Rivals to have new features. It could be NetEase is just testing these features out.
