What are BTC pairs?

BTC pairs in the context of cryptocurrencies mean trading pairs in which Bitcoin (BTC) acts as one of the currencies. Simply put, this is the ability to exchange Bitcoin for another cryptocurrency or fiat currency (for example, the US dollar).

How does it work?

Base currency and quote currency: Each trading pair has two currencies: base and quote. For example, in the BTC/USD pair:

BTC is the base currency that you are buying or selling.

USD is the quote currency, the price of which is expressed in the base currency. That is, the price of 1 BTC will be indicated in US dollars.

Trading: When you buy the BTC/USD pair, you are essentially buying Bitcoin for dollars. If you sell this pair, you sell Bitcoin and receive dollars.
