Cryptocurrency companies are opening their wallets to support the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. Coinbase and Kraken have each pledged $1 million to the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, while Ripple (XRP) is set to donate $5 million. Cryptocurrency payment processor MoonPay has also expressed interest in donating but has not disclosed how much it plans to give. The donations from these companies are a sign of the growing acceptance of cryptocurrency by mainstream institutions. In the past, cryptocurrency was often seen as a risky and volatile investment, but it is now becoming more widely recognized as a legitimate asset class. The Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee is responsible for planning and managing the swearing-in ceremony for President-elect Donald Trump. The committee is chaired by Tom Barrack, a close friend and advisor to Trump. The inauguration of Donald Trump is scheduled to take place on January 20, 2017.
