The SEC has banned Shan Hanes, the former CEO of Heartland Tri-State Bank in Kansas, from working in the banking industry. Hanes was previously sentenced to 293 months in federal prison for his role

in a $47 million cryptocurrency fraud case. He made 11 unauthorized wire transfers in 2023, transferring $47.1 million to a crypto wallet for a pig-killing plate scam, causing the bank’s collapse.
