Japan's DMM Crypto is pulling the plug on its Seamoon Protocol, a Web3 gaming and content platform. The decision comes amid rapid changes in the business environment, which have challenged the project's sustainability. Seamoon, powered by the SMP token on the Oasys layer-2 blockchain, will see its first game, Kanpani Girl Re:Bloom, wind down by January 2025.

DMM Crypto, a part of the larger DMM.com group, launched the Seamoon Protocol in June 2023. Despite earlier plans to boost its ecosystem with a stablecoin, the project will not continue. The company has not detailed the specific challenges faced.
